Guest Speaker Assemblymember Marc Berman

We’re honored to welcome our guest speaker Assemblymember Marc Berman, who is running for re-election in the newly drawn Assembly District 23, which now includes the entire Coastside from Montara to Pescadero. Hear about his work on our behalf and ask him questions about the issues that matter most to you!

The November 2022 Endorsements
Our members in good standing will vote on endorsements for candidates who have applied for our support in these races:

San Mateo County Harbor District, District 3
Granada Community Services District
Half Moon Bay City Council, District 4
Assemblymember, District 23

Questionnaires submitted by five candidates seeking the club’s endorsement have been posted on the Election 2022 page and on our social media outlets. Please review this information before the Sunday meeting to help inform your voting decisions.

Eligible members will vote on the endorsement of the proposed Ordinance for Oversight of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office by Fixin’ San Mateo to establish citizen’s oversight of the County Sheriff’s Department.  Representatives from this group will make a presentation during our meeting and take questions.

There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of Assemblymember Berman, the candidates and Fixin’ San Mateo County representatives.  In order to win our endorsement, a candidate or proposal must receive a 60% YES vote. Options to make No Endorsement or Abstain will also be included on the ballot.

Board Elections with Guest Speaker Nancy Magee

Just us on 22 May at 2pm for our Club Board Elections.

Nancy Magee, San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools, will be our guest speaker. Elected in 2018, Superintendent Magee brings more than 20 years of classroom experience and 11 years of district and county office of education leadership experience to the role. Superintendent Magee will provide an overview of California’s education landscape as state and education leaders aim to move our schools beyond pandemic response.
